Church Theme “We Are Well Able”
Brown Chapel House of God Saints In Christ Inc.
The Philosophy of the Brown Chapel House Of God Saints In Christ Church
1. We believe that the Bible is the Holy Word of God and we hold the Holy Word of God to be the only authority in all spiritual matters.
2. We believe in God, the Father Almighty the Creator of all things. The Old Testament reveals God in diverse manner and the New Testament give us knowledge of God as the first person in the Godhead.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and the Second person in the Godhead.
4. We believe the Holy Ghost to be the Third person in the Godhead.
5. We believe also that the members of The House Of God Saints In Christ Church to be baptized with the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire and have the evidence which is speaking with other tongues as the spirit gives utterance. (Luke 11:13; Acts 1:2-5; Acts 2:4)
6. We believe that water baptism is necessary as instructed by Christ Jesus; (St. John 3:5) however water baptism alone will not save, but is an outward demonstration that one has had a conversion experience and has accepted Christ as His personal Saviour. We believe as given to us by Christ for all baptism "In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
7. We believe that Jesus Christ shed his blood for the remission of sins; and for regeneration of penitent sinners and for the salvation from sins and from sinning (Romans 3:25; John 3:5-10; Ephesians 2:1- 10). Also that he shed his blood for the complete cleansing of the justified believers from all indwelling sin and from its pollution, subsequent to regeneration (l John 1 :7-9).
8. We believe, teach and firmly maintain the spiritual doctrine of justification by faith (Romans 5:1).
9. We believe sanctification is an instantaneous definite work of Christ, obtainable by faith on the part of the believers (St. John 17:17; Acts 26:18).
10. We believe in the second coming of Christ that he shall come from heaven; and that the Church, his bride, will be caught up to meet him in the air I Thessalonians 4:16
11. We believe that miracles are extraordinary visible acts of God's Divine power. We believe these works of God, which where performed during the beginning Christianity continues to occur even today where the word of God is preached, where Faith in Christ is exercised and where Holy Ghost is active in the Gospel.
12. We believe that Divine Healing by Faith in God has scriptional support (James 5:14). We are encouraged to pray for the sick, lay hands upon them and to anoint them with oil and that prayer with faith shall save sick and the Lord shall raise them up; and testimonies of healings in our churches testify to the fact.
13. The Lord's Supper (the Holy Communion) symbolizes the Lord's suffering and death in the place of his people. Feet washing to is practiced in our church, by his example Jesus showed humility. (This service is held subsequent to the Lord's Supper, however, its regularity is left to the discretion of the Pastor in charge).
14. The word of God instructs us that "Marriage is honorable in all and the bed is undefiled", and we firmly hold that there are certain relations between the husband and wife which are strictly private according to the Word of God. (Hebrews 13:4; I Corinthians 7:1-5).
